KATSUKAWA SHUNCHO (Worked c. 1770—1796)
Three girls at a bench tea-booth at Shinagawa. In the shallow water of Edo bay at the right the ceremony is being performed of washing the mikoshi or portable shrine in which the sacred Shinto emblems were carried in the procession of the Gozu Tenno festival, seventh day of the sixth month.
